Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates
EPIC enables physicians to build an electronic portfolio of their credentials and to demonstrate the authenticity of their credentials by requesting verification reports for medical regulatory authorities (MRAs), medical education and training programs, hospitals, and other entities. Physicians pay for these services as they request them.
MRAs and other organizations are recipients of the credentials and verification reports that physicians have requested. These organizations use EPIC at no cost.

EPIC Portfolio Establishment in MyIntealth

Some institutions charge a fee to verify credentials, and you are, in most cases, responsible for paying these fees directly to the institution. Therefore, it is recommended that you check with the institution in advance regarding fees for verifying your credentials. In some cases, the institution will require that ECFMG pay this fee at the time the verification is requested. In this case, ECFMG will pay the fee and place a corresponding charge on your MyIntealth Account.

If a credential has been previously verified by ECFMG for ECFMG Certification or on behalf of a medical regulatory authority through ECFMG’s International Credentials Services (EICS), you may not need to upload these credentials through EPIC and pay the Verification of Credential fee. Within 10 business days of establishing your EPIC Portfolio, ECFMG will review your file, and if these verifications are acceptable, we will add the verified credentials to your EPIC Portfolio at no cost.

You are not required to select and pay for courier service. If you choose not to have your credential sent via courier and ECFMG is unable to send the request electronically, it will be sent via regular mail.
ECFMG’s courier service applies only to sending the verification request via courier; if you would like your verification returned to ECFMG via courier, you will need to make arrangements directly with the issuing institution. Please note, however, that the verification must be returned to ECFMG directly by the issuing institution.

If you owe money to ECFMG at the time you are requesting a service, you will be required to pay the balance owed in addition to the fee for the new request.

EPIC Reports are provided through the secure MyIntealth environment. To access reports, organizations can either establish a MyIntealth Account or obtain access to single reports.

If your organization does not have a MyIntealth Entity Portal Account, when a physician requests an EPIC Report for your organization, you will receive an e-mail with a link to view that single EPIC Report. This includes:
